iPhone Developer/Artist Meetup at WWDC 2009

Update: As billed, the meeting was a resounding failure. 20+ developers showed up and no artist/designer types. All too busy as far as I can determine, with last-minute deadlines etc. However, we had a good time. The conversation turned from design to marketing, the state of the app store, how to make and not make money, and general discussion of the platform.

I have converted this fledgling group of people into a Google Group called Pencils and Keyboards. Drop me an email if you’d like to join.

Original posting:

There will be a very high concentration of iPhone developers right in the middle of San Francisco the week of June 8. Since so many are looking for artists and designers to help with their app, and so many artists and designers in the city are looking for iPhone developers to code their ideas, I thought it would be interesting to get the two groups together.

It's an informal lunchtime meeting at which you can introduce yourself and chat to those on the opposite side of the fence.

Where: By the waterfall at Yerba Buena Gardens. Just a few hundred feet from Moscone West. I’ll be wearing a bright red jacket.

When: Wednesday June 10th at 12:15 or so, for about an hour.

What to bring: Your lunch, your business cards, your ideas, your apps, etc. And be prepared to talk about what you are doing and who you are looking for.

Sign Up: None. But please send me an email so I have an idea of how many people to expect. And indicate whether you are a developer or an artist.
